Life- Changing Experience
During the month of June, 2017 my sons and I were invited to participate in an African adventure, hosted by Jan and Sara Nel. We stayed in wonderful accommodations on the edge of Kruger National Park in South Africa. The game preserve is 220 miles long and 40 miles wide, so there was plenty to see.
The ultimate purpose of the trip centered on moving into your spiritual destiny, and was one of the more powerful experiences of my faith to date. Here are just a few of the sights God blessed us with.
During our first night, we stayed at a bed and breakfast near the airport. In the evening, Jan and Sara treated us to dinner at Mandela Square, a beautiful mall and square in Johannesburg.
The trip from Johannesburg (where we landed) to the park is approximately 6 hours drive, not including stops. During the trip, we got to know our fellow team members, Robert, Jean, Orna, Patrick and Johann, together with our guide, Jacques. We also enjoyed a delicacy snacking food called, Biltong. Biltong is the Mercedes Benz version of beef jerky, softer in texture and varying in taste. One described biltong as eating a thin version of filet mignon. That might be stretching it just a wee bit. (We attempted to bring several kilos back with us, but the custom agents in NYC evidently wanted them for themselves!)
A large part of our time in Africa was spent driving to places both inside and outside the Park. Here are just some of the sights:
